Nuevo Vallarta Update - Boots on the Ground #1

May 14, 2014

We apologize that the following update is dated. Regardless, Boots has interesting observations, and they still apply, even if the update is two months old. Here is what Boots had to say:

March 14, 2014
Bob

They still only have the original 8 lofts open (4 - 2 bedroom and 4 - 3 bedroom in GL3A). The other 8 in GL3B are under construction and will likely be ready in late spring. Not much happening with lofts in GL4A or GL4B so I doubt they will be ready before Christmas - I don't know why they aren't pushing that.

We are presently in a 2 bedroom loft. They have also now completely dismantled the new ballroom floor on the top of the Plaza building and some say they will put lofts there though Chad said no and it is a redesign of the ballroom. Similar uncertainty with the French restaurant that also may be redone since it was supposed to be open by now- all because Chavez didn't like the finished product they say.

I don't think that any of GL5 will be open for Christmas (though the sales guys say it will be open) and my best guess is March/15. And yes they may rush to finish a few units sooner but who knows.

They have ripped up the shuttle path between GL3A/B and the canal and are installing new water/sewer pipes, conduits etc and have also dammed up a portion of the canal itself for this construction. It looks like they are burying a utility corridor underground in that space but why they didn't do it in the first place escapes me. I assume they will put the canal back into place but who knows.

Slow progress on GL4B (the crane is moving but not many workers visible) and GL5 is being formed but I don't think it will cap off for a couple of months and I don't see the interior being done till Q1 or Q2 next year. Apparently they are not going to put the temporary pro shop in GL5 which was another rumor.

The Bliss on the old driving range is under construction and looks like a double building. Also strange surveyor marks on the golf course holes 4 and 5 across the road and some say there are buildings going up there.

So as usual lots of uncertainty!

We move to the Punta for the next few days and then doing our side trip to Copper Canyon on Tuesday for six days - should be fun.

Cheers

Regarding the highlighted reference to buildings on the golf course holes 4 and 5, property plans appear to show there will be a series of buildings located there. No one has indicated what they will become. However, we have been told that Luxxe Tower 5 will be located at the center of activity for the property. Here is the latest plan for the area in question:

name
Nuevo Vallarta Resort Plan Closeup - Mar 4 2014

The buildings in question are east of Tower 5 and the ones that appear on the plan to be a wish-bone structure. There is a center structure that seems to be circular and access two sides of the wish bone.

Is there any evidence that construction of this structure has started, other than the surveyor marks?

As Boots says, the evolution of the property continues to be a mystery. It is also clear announcements of future developments (ala the Greg Norman course, the Celebration Park, the train) are made well ahead of implementation. It is truly a balance between letting owners know what is in the works and actually completing the plan.
Thank you boots. As usual great information and advice.....we will all stay tuned....
